The Zachary Thomas Nelson ’14 Endowed Memorial Scholarship Award was established in honor of Zachary Thomas Nelson on June 3, 2018. Zachary lost his life as an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire on June 3, 2017. 

The purpose of this endowed scholarship award is to annually recognize a graduating senior from St. Augustine High School who exhibits the qualities, commitment, and passion of Zachary Nelson, a young man who during his life was a dedicated and proud Purple Knight who was extremely focused on his family, education, community service projects and obligations.

Student scholarship awards will be awarded annually to a student who fully meets the established criteria in an amount determined by the Nelson family. Scholarships awarded from this fund will assist a graduating senior who meets all academic standards established by the school and who enrolls at a post-secondary institution.  The gift of a named endowed fund represents the highest level of investment in the future of St. Augustine High School and will keep the name of Zachary Thomas Nelson in existence forever.
